Welcome to the Himwitsa Lodge
We are First Nations owned and operated since 1994. Members of Nu-Chah-Nulth Nation, Lewis George is the Hereditary Chief. Both Lewis, and his wife Cathy, are the owners and operators of our fine establishments!
We are located in the heart of what some may call "Down Town" Tofino, as our community is a very small area we are within a few minutes walk of all amenities and local shops.
The ideal location for the enjoyment of your stay here in beautiful Tofino, B.C. You are meters away from the water's edge that looks out towards Meares Island with the majestic Lone Cone Mountain towering over it.
Our property is a 12-minute walk from the beach. It features a fish shop and a native art store on-site! A private entrance and deck with sea views lead to every suite at Lodge Himwitsa. Guests can relax on the sofa bed in the living room and watch satellite TV.
Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and Wilf Rock Fishing are within 15 km from the hotel. This property also has one of the best-rated locations in Tofino!

Big Tree Trail on Mears Island is 3.9 km accessed by boat tour offered right next door to us by Remote Passages $25 per person which we highly recommend, absolutely breathtaking to enjoy the boat ride and unmatched beauty of the temperate rainforest.
For those seeking adventure and are into hiking, the majestic Lone Cone Mountain is 5 km accessed by boat tour. The Tofino Water Taxi is within walking distance.
The best part about our neighbourhood is the bounty of wildlife that is on constant display from your balcony. If you are really lucky, you may get a rare sighting of a grey whale, a pod of orcas, or a humpback whale hanging out in the harbour.
Of the many species of birds and ducks on the coast, you can catch a glimpse of the most prominently revered bald eagles which are abundant in the area. You may also see sea otters, sea lions, seals amongst many other west coast species.

“Wish we could have stayed longer! Great view of the sunset from our balcony overlooking the water. The gentleman that checked us in helped carry our bags and baby‘s stroller up the stairs. They left us a complimentary bottle of wine and smoked salmon to compensate for the construction going on elsewhere on the property (although it did not impact us at all).”
