Valencia Bird Paddle Looking Forward To The Journey

Valencia Bird is primarily self-taught. She began carving stone in 1998. Although Cree, Valencia is heavily influenced by art from the Arctic and Inuit aesthetics. She has carved with Donnie Bird, and he provided guidance with regard to technique and Arctic form. Valencia also works in soapstone, serpentine, wonderstone, and catlinite.
