Joseph Campbell, a Northwest Coast art expert and native of Vancouver, was inspired to begin carving at a young age by his late father, Sylvester. Growing up with a deep cultural understanding of the traditional Coast Salish designs, Campbell's carving techniques are influenced by his late brother Danny and his mentor, Master Carver Larry Rosso. Expanding his skills, Campbell also studied under renowned artists Robert Davidson and George Rammel, specializing in advanced design and bronze casting techniques. Today, his focus lies in creating vibrant and intricately designed bentwood boxes, staying true to the traditional elements of his culture.
