Geo McKay, a member of the Beaver tribe of the Nisga’a Nation, was raised in Greenville, a village along the Nass River in British Columbia. Inspired by his father, a renowned artist, Geo developed a passion for north coast art at a young age. With a strong focus on education, Geo has since traveled and worked with various influential artists to expand his repertoire of techniques and explore traditional and contemporary works. His unique style has gained a large and appreciative following, with his preferred medium being wood. Combining his natural talent and deep passion, Geo creates totem poles, masks, and other traditional items with skill and precision. His art is a reflection of his cultural heritage and draws inspiration from the natural beauty and supernatural legends of the Nisga’a people.
