Jim Charlie, hailing from the Capilano Reserve in North Vancouver, BC, is a Coast Salish artist who represents the Squamish Nation. His ancestral territory, spanning from North and West Vancouver to Whistler, BC, boasts a rich history and culture that has been passed down to Charlie from his great-grandfather, Jericho Charlie, and his late grandfather, Dominic Charlie, an accomplished carver. He has honed his craft under the guidance of Salish carvers Floyd Joseph and Jacob Lewis, as well as the esteemed Gitksan artist Phil Janze. Charlie's artwork has been featured in esteemed art fairs and galleries, including a recent commission at the renowned Vancouver International Airport.
