Fine Hand Carved Sitting Polar Bear fetish or "Nanuq" by James Uglowook, a native Yupik Eskimo who is a master carver from Gambell, Alaska, a small Yup'ik Eskimo village of about 700 people on St. Lawrence Island, just south of the Bering Straits. It is in excellent condition.*Base is signed "J. Uglowook"
